Sensory Garden

Finding the sensory garden

Our sensory garden is right next to the building and you can get to it from the top of the first set of stairs from reception, or from an entrance in Morrab Gardens next to Pengarth Day Centre.

It is all accessible for wheelchair users – it has a gently sloping path that leads to a patio space with wooden ‘planters’ – big boxes filled with soil and plants – that mean you can get close to the plants if you can’t get down low.

Curiosity Wall

There is a curiosity wall which is a wooden cupboard on the wall with lots of wooden sections, clear plastic boxes and spaces in. This is for interesting things our visitors have found or made, and you can add something to it or write a message or a fact on in chalk if you want.

Sensory garden workshop

The sensory garden workshop is a small room with a big glass wall that can be folded back, and a small glass door that can be opened or left shut.

Inside the workshop

It has a cupboard in one of the walls – inside the cupboard is a sink and a kettle, cups and glasses. If you are attending a workshop in here it may have tea and coffee in here.
