Entering the building

There are two main ways you can come into the Gardeners’ House. The first option is that you can come into our building through the Sensory Garden entrance – you can see it in this picture here.

If you are a wheelchair user, this may be the best entrance to use as the lift to the first floor is just inside.

Entering through reception

The second way to come into the building is through the reception door – this is next to the Morrab Library car park and has some signs outside. Once you’re in, you will see our reception desk – here is Joanne, one of our volunteers.

The person behind the desk will say hello – if it’s not too busy, they can show you around.

They can always show you where to go in the building, including how to use the lifts and where the toilets are.

Our Shop

There is a shop in reception where we sell homeware inspired by the Archive. These are nice things for peoples houses, which will remind people of things from our archive. The things people can buy can be seen behind the desk and on the walls around reception.

Mobility Parking

The stairs nearest reception have a space near them which is an easy place to leave a mobility scooter, and is where we keep our wheelchair for people to use if they need it.
